However, it exhibited the following behaviours:
- The machine boots successfully from an XTCF card. I can access both the A: and B: drives though not always reliably. Sometimes I have to re-insert the diskette to get it to read correctly.
- If I try and boot from the A: drive, it starts to boot, but the drive stops spinning just after it says "Starting MS-DOS". Using MS-DOS 6.22. The drive LED remains on, but nothing else happens. I cannot restart the machine with a CTRL-ALT-DEL. I have to hit the reset button or power off/on.
- Swapping the drives makes no difference in behaviour
- Checked TM jumper (terminator). Both drives have it installed. Removed it from the B: drive (which is connected to the inner connector. No difference in behaviour observed.
- If I disconnect the B: drive, it does not attempt to boot at all.
- 6Doesn't matter which drive I make the A:, as a single drive it does not boot on its own.
- Jumpers on drives are as follows:
Drive A: DS1,DA,MS,TM,RY; Drive B: DS2,DA,MS,TM,RY,
Where,
