In January I started building another set of built-in bookcases (like a made a few years ago). This set is for some of my daughter's books. Unfortunately I with the lock down it took some time to get the wood I needed. I finally was able to finish this off today.

My hobby room is almost finished. Just one more thing to do, the hidden bookcase door to the closet under the stairs. Over the last several months, I have been slowly been transforming this space into something much more organized and functional than what I had before. For example, instead of storing my antique radios in a shelf in the hallway outside, I now have a nice built-in shelving unit to store them. I have also extended my work bench so that it now covers three walls. On top of that, I created two units to hold all my misc electronic/computer/radio parts in small parts bins. I am a visual person, and like to see what I have at a glance, rather than sorting through boxes etc. As you may recall from my earlier posts, we had a serious flood last summer. While this was a major pain in the backside, it was also an opportunity to improve things. The basement hadn't been upgraded since the 1970s and had this tacky paneling. My wife and I always wanted a Tudor style room, so that is what we did. Here are photos of the finished product. Finally! The contractors are here to restore my basement after the flood in June. Finally the work crew arrived. It was starting to smell pretty rank. Wet carpet gone. Walls opened up. Dryers and blowers installed.
