At my son Alex's request, I repurposed an old photocopy machine motor to electrify the forge blower so that it did not have to be hand operated. Basically I replaced the hand crank with a pulley and mounted the motor to the wall. The motor is powered from a wall socket that is on a dimmer, so the speed can be varied. It works quite well for this purpose.

Cleaned up surface of the new workbench, routed the edge and applied the urethane. Once it is dried it will be ready for use. It is slowly coming together.
Today we moved some of my lumber into the loft. I had this lifting beam installed similar to what you see in houses in Amsterdam. It worked great. We got most of the big stuff in. Still some smaller stuff to move, but that's for another day. The reason we had to stop was because a wind storm came through. It blew the crown of the neighbors tree off. We figured at that point we should call it a day.
Final work on the shed is complete. The flip up stairs latching mechanism and safety lock is now installed. This evening I started moving in my power tools and such. The table saw, band saw and other big tools were moved over from my garage.
A week or so the chimney was installed, so the forge table was moved over and the vent connected up. Basically the building has been turned over to me, and the rest is my doing. First off I will need to build a work bench and install pegboard etc., much like I did in my garage 10 years ago. Forge - insulation and beginning of Hardie board install. Hardie Board is a cement board that is fire proof, which makes it ideal for this application. My contractor had some left overs from a previous job, so he sold them to me at a discount for use here. He had enough that we used some in the main workshop area as well.
Did some wiring in the shed today. Tomorrow, I will finish up the remaining wiring in the forge so the gang can put in the insulation and Hardie (cement) board.
The electricians came today to install a new panel along with a generator sub-panel and a panel in the shed.
Last if the exterior work is done on the shed. Had an exhaust fan installed. Now they will start my deck, weather permitting, tomorrow. Then later there are some interior things to finish off, including a wall to separate the forge from the rest.
