My friend and colleague Ferhat came by with his family to see Saturn and some other celestial objects. They had a great time. They got to see some cool stuff like Saturn's rings and some other celestial delights.

Got a vintage (1977) computer catalog from the "First Canadian Computer Company" in the mail today. Lots of interesting history in here. Has anyone ever heard of this company before?
Some computers systems covered are EBKA, Motorola, SWTPC, Processor Technology, IMSAI, Cromemco, EMA and a few others. I will post a PDF in the MIL Mod 80 section later on. I want to take some pictures of the eclipse this August, but I don't have a good setup for doing that. The last time I did anything like this, I used my trusty Olympus OM-1 film camera. Unfortunately the accessories I have are not compatible with today's point and shoot digital cameras. I could buy a digital SLR, but they are pricey. I needed to come up with a solution that didn't break the bank. So I made up a camera adapter to utilize as much of my old equipment as possible. In this case, my Orion eyepiece projection unit, and my trusty 80 mm ST-80 scope. The guy who runs this place appears to be too bloody lazy to clear a pathway to this stuff. It's been like this for ages. I just bet there is some good stuff buried in there too. Left my phone number with the guy, just in case. Doubt I will ever hear anything though. :-( |
