In 2013, my old masonite dome was in need of some serious repairs. Some of the masonite panels were starting to rot and rather than replace them, I decided to construct an entirely knew dome - out of aluminum sheeting. One of the problems with the original design was that it was very heavy. That made it difficult sometimes to rotate. After a visit to the Wright Brother's workshop in Greenfield Village in Michigan, I came up with a new way to construct the ribs for this dome. Consequently, this dome weighs only ~ 50 lbs, whereas the original one was over 250 lbs.
